MID STATE HORSEMAN'S ASSOCIATION
   BAD CHECK POLICY

1)        First offense:  Notification will be made by either MSHA President or MSHA Vice President regarding any check written for money owed to MSHA that does not clear the bank.  The original check amount plus any fees incurred by MSHA as a result of the bad check must be paid in cash within 14 days of notification or before the start of the next MSHA show (whichever comes first).  Other club officials will be notified and given the name, date and amount of the check.

If not paid in full within the allotted timeframe, all points earned which were paid for with the bad check will be forfeited.  If any points are affected that were not earned by a member of the immediate family, notification will be made, and they will be provided an opportunity to pay the fees owed.  Anyone who showed under a bad check will not be allowed to show until such monies are made whole.  If the bad check is cleared up after the allotted time frame, the show will count toward the eight shows, but the points will not be recovered due to not paying off the bad check in the allotted time.

2)       Second offense:  If second offense occurs, steps as outlined in (1) above will be followed.  In addition, all monies owed to MSHA must be paid in cash for 1 year from the date of the offense.

3)       Third offense:  If a third offense occurs, steps as outlined in (1) above will be followed.  In addition, all monies owed to MSHA must be paid in cash for life.
